Salem, Mo. -

There will not be a lot of suspense when the St. James and Salem high school football Tigers get together for their regular-season finale.

Salem knows it’s going to the playoffs, St. James knows it’s staying home.

St. James ends the 2009 season by playing at Salem Friday in Missouri Class 3 District 7 action. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

St. James will be trying to end a eight-game losing skid. St. James is 1-8 overall and 0-2 in district action. Last week St. James played one of its best games of the season in falling to Owensville 14-7. St. James took a lead into the second half.

Salem clinched the district championship by clipping Sullivan 29-26 last week. Salem is 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the district.

The other Class 3 District 7 playoff berth will go to the winner of Friday’s Sullivan at Owensville contest.

Salem wants to keep the momentum rolling into next week’s playoffs while St. James wants to take momentum into the off-season.
