The Rolla High School volleyball team dropped a tough season-opener on Monday, as the Lady Bulldogs fell to Licking in three games 22-25, 25-14, 26-24.
“It was a tough loss against a great Licking team,” said RHS head coach Amy Luna. “They really pass the ball well and they have one girl who is a great server. We were right there in that third game; it was back and forth.”
Rolla won the junior varsity match in straight games, 25-19, 25-15.
Dani Licklider had five kills for the Rolla jayvee squad while Katie Kaczmarek had 17 assists, Claire Victor seven digs and Zoey Craun had six aces and led the team in serve receiving.
No freshman match was held.
The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to open the home portion of their schedule on Thursday, hosting Columbia Hickman at the two RHS gyms. At 5 p.m. the jayvee and freshman matches will both be held, the jayvee match in the main gym and the freshman match in the practice gym. The varsity match will follow in the main gym.
