Several area players, including Rolla High School’s Leah Parry, are scheduled to compete in the Gerald Pilz & Friends All-Star Basketball Games.
The Pilz All-Star event is scheduled to be held Saturday, July 11 on the campus of College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout. The girls’ all-star game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game following around 8 p.m.
Parry, a 6-2 center from the Rolla High School girls’ basketball team, is scheduled to compete in the girls’ game. Frisco League players also expected to play in the girls’ contest include Crocker’s Kaitlin Bogle; Licking’s Camerin Heithold and Brandi Duncan; Laquey’s Shelbee Cowart, and Dixon’s Haley Yoakum.
The boys’ all-star game will also feature Frisco League players, including Laquey’s Michael Wilson and Kortez Britt; Plato’s Blake Kimrey.
Among the coaches for the boys’ all-star game is Rolla’s John Brown, a former Mizzou basketball legend, NBA player and Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inductee.
The Pilz All-Star Hall of Fame will also be announced. The Pilz All-Star Hall of Fame is to honor individuals for their contributions to high school athletics, education and the Pilz All-Star events.
They include Brent Colley, Carroll Cookson, Ronnie Cookson, Gary Keeling, Pete Waldo, John Brown, Joe Murphy and Rosa Leah Spencer.
In addition a Coaches’ Reunion will be held from 7-10 p.m. July 10 at the Lodge of the Ozarks in Branson. Coaches from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s will be guests in attendance.
