Four cyclists with Rolla ties competed in Syllamo's Revenge held on Saturday, May 3 in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.
The race featured 50 miles of mountainous, single-track trails, making it similar in effort to running a marathon. There was a field of 350 cyclists.
Stacey LaPresta, of Rolla, took first place in the women's open division with a time of 6:05:32.
Dan Fuhrmann, of Rolla, placed third in the single speed division and was fourth overall with a time of 5:04:10.
Kyle Shour, a Missouri S&T student from Gladstone, Mo., placed third in the men’s 20-29 age group with a time of 5:35:58.
Jeff Wendel, of Rolla, competed in the Men’s 40-49 age group and recorded a time of 7:17:30.
Matt Keeven of O’Fallon, Mo. was the overall race winner with a time of 4:51:48.
