It may have been a long road trip.
But the travel certainly didn’t bother the Rolla High School boys’ basketball team on Friday.
The Bulldogs got started quickly and went on to pound Joplin 51-36 in Ozark Conference play.
Rolla improves to 14-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Joplin falls to 9-8 and 1-2.

“Joplin has a really nice team,” said RHS head coach Mark Miller. “They’ve got two good players and they’re a pretty big team. But our defensive intensity, our rebounding, really stepped it up. We switched defenses and kept them off-balanced and offensively we hit some shots.”

Charlie Brown led Joplin with 11 points.
In the junior varsity game a fierce Rolla rally fell short, as Joplin posted a 49-46 victory.
