The Missouri S&T football team is hoping to make it three victories in a row this weekend against an old conference rival.

The Miners will end the home portion of their 2009 season Saturday, hosting Lincoln University in Great Lakes Football Conference action.

Kickoff on a muddy Allgood/Bailey Stadium is to begin at 1 p.m. It is Family Weekend/Military Appreciation Day for the Miners.

Plagued by a slew of injuries and playing competition that included five nationally-ranked opponents the Miners opened the season 0-6.

However, S&T has won its last two games in impressive fashion at home to improve to 2-6 overall. The Miners are 0-1 in conference play.

Last week the Miners faced their sixth opponent that has been nationally-ranked this season and knocked off St. Francis 39-37 on a 28-yard field goal by Joe Drahos with seven seconds remaining. St. Francis was unbeaten and ranked No. 4 in the NAIA national poll entering the game.

The Lincoln Blue Tigers, although showing improvement lately, have had another dreary season, coming to Rolla with an 0-8 overall record. Last year at Jefferson City the Miners racked up their largest single-game point total in 85 years in blasting Lincoln 68-0.
