Camdenton, Mo. -

Every goal set before them during this surprisingly perfect season has been toppled by the Rolla High School football Bulldogs.

So far.

A couple of huge ones loom in Camdenton tonight.

RHS will try to wrap up its second district championship of the decade and the third unbeaten regular season in program history tonight when it ends the ’09 regular season with a Class 5 District 6 game at Camdenton. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. It will be Camdenton Parent/Senior Night.

Rolla, ranked No. 5 in the Missouri Class 5 state poll, enters 9-0 overall and 2-0 in the district with a perfect plus-26 playoff points. The Bulldogs have clinched a playoff berth, but not yet the district championship. Camdenton is still battling the other two District 6 teams, Lebanon and Waynesville, for the district’s second playoff berth. All four teams still have chances to make the playoffs entering tonight’s action. Waynesville hosts Lebanon in tonight’s other district game.

Last week Rolla defeated Waynesville 14-0 while Lebanon held off Camdenton 28-27, when the Lakers missed a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter.

Behind Rolla in the district standings are Camdenton 1-1 with plus-1 playoff points, Lebanon 1-1 with minus-12 and Waynesville 0-2 with minus-15.

If Rolla wins the district championship it will get a bye in next week’s regional playoff round and host a Class 5 Sectional game Nov. 9. If the Bulldogs finish second in the district they would play a regional game on the road Nov. 4.

Here are some of tonight’s scenarios:

*If Rolla wins the Bulldogs are district champions.

*Rolla could also lose and win the district crown, depending on the scores of the two district games.

*If Camdenton beats Rolla by 13 points, the Lakers win the district title.

*If Camdenton beats Rolla and Waynesville beats Lebanon, Rolla and Camdenton go to the playoffs.

*If Camdenton wins and Lebanon wins, Rolla and Lebanon go to the playoffs.

*If Rolla wins and Waynesville wins, depending on the point totals of each game, Waynesville could still secure the district’s final playoff spot.

So the only thing really certain going into tonight’s action is that Rolla is assured of one of the two playoff berths.
