Vienna girls' basketball wins opener

The top-seeded Vienna High School girls’ basketball team opened its season by blasting eighth-seeded Jamestown 63-28 Monday in the first round of the Tipton Tournament.

Vienna is slated to play Chamois at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the semifinals.

Senior post Hannah Herzing tallied 15 points and 14 rebounds to pace the Lady Eagles while junior post Lacey James had 14 points and five steals and junior guard Kaylyn Meier had 10 points and five steals.
