Jason Howard did it the night before.
Another night; another sport...another comeback.
Apparently the rest of the Rolla High School football team players took notes on how Howard and their RHS boys’ soccer team counterparts got it done the previous night.
On Tuesday the RHS boys’ soccer team completed the greatest post-season comeback in program history, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to eventually beat Waynesville in penalty kicks in district tournament semifinal action.
Howard played a key role in the Bulldog soccer win.
And a night later Howard, a junior place-kicker, and the rest of the Bulldogs pulled a football comeback in dramatic fashion.
Rolla scored two touchdowns in the final 5:13 of play to come from behind and beat Washington 28-21 Wednesday in Missouri Class 5 Regional playoff action at Washington High School.
The Bulldogs, now 10-1, will travel to St. Louis Monday to take on Parkway North in Class 5 Sectional action (7 p.m. kickoff). Parkway North, 8-1, received a regional-round bye.
The Washington Blue Jays finishes the campaign with a 7-4 mark...but not before giving the Bulldogs a big scare.
