Mabel Leota Rueff, 92, of Rolla, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Blooming Rose, Mo., Sept. 10, 1916 to the late Oren and Rosa (Reed) Thorpe.
On June 30, 1940, in Lexington Nebr., she married Edward L. Rueff who preceded her in death on May 1, 1995.
Mrs. Rueff was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Who’s New and You.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mabel was preceded in death by two brothers, Dorsey and Doyal Thorpe, and eight sisters, Orba Thorpe, Orpha Harris, Clara Crow, Esther Case, Alta Schlup, Anna Brookins, Opal Lomax, and Marie Smith.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes her daughter, Myrna Rueff, of Rolla, and 26 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mabel Rueff will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at the Null & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 21 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or the Rolla Noon Kiwanis Club.
