Rose Ella Stevenson, 97, of Rolla, formerly of Mount Vernon, Ill., died Monday, June 15, 2009, at her Rolla home.
She was born in Jefferson County, Ill., to James Elmer and Rosetta (Snow) Storment on Nov. 16, 1911.
On Nov. 23, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Ill., she married Charles Joseph “Joe” Stevenson, who preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1992.
Rose Ella is survived by a daughter, Joetta Campbell and husband, Bob, of Rolla; two grandchildren, Dawn Riedle and husband, Mike, of Rolla, and Devin Campbell and wife, Carie, also of Rolla. Five great grandchildren also survive, who include Logan Riedle of Nixa, Mo., Blake and Chloe Riedle and Savannah and Olivia Campbell, all of Rolla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; five brothers, Huey, James, Alva, Charles and Fred Storment, and three sisters, Daisy Webb, Beulah Storment and Mary Beal.
She was a cook at Casey Junior High School in Mount Vernon, Ill., until retirement and was a member of Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Ill., with J. Howard Kraps presiding.
Visitation for Rose will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Ill.
Interment will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Ill.
