Fern Darlene Copenhagen passed away on July 10, 2008, at Doniphan, Mo.  She was 93 years, 5 months and 20 days of age.

Fern was born on Jan. 20, 1915, in Ohio to her parents: Tom and Letha Hickinbotham. She was united in marriage to Thurman J. Copenhagen on April 22, 1933, in Alton, Mo.

Fern was retired from the St. Louis County Bank.  She was a member of the High Gate Baptist Church in Maries County.  She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter: Carol Dale and husband Will of Doniphan, Mo.; one son: James Patrick Copenhagen and wife Carolyn of Rolla, Mo.; three brothers: Boyd Hickinbotham and wife Barbara of Salem, Ark.; Doil Hickinbotham and wife Fern of Thayer, Mo.; and Herman Hickinbotham of West Plains, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.  Fern will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Preceding Fern in death are her parents: Tom and Letha Hickinbotham; her husband: Thurman J. Copenhagen on September, 1993; one son: Glen David Copenhagen; and one brother: Glen Hickinbotham.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m.  at High Gate Church Cemetery in rural St. James, Mo., with Brother Douglas Lane officiating.
