Ada Lucille Harris, of Rolla, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Heritage Park Skilled Care Center at the age of 90.
She was born in Licking, Missouri on December 11, 1918 to the late George and Verdie (Wells) Keeney.
On October 19, 1941 she married Edward Harris who preceded her in death on February 26, 1997.
Ada worked as a secretary for the First Christian Church in Rolla for 25 years. She was also the first bookkeeper for the Public Water District #2. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Rolla.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by three sisters, Velda Keeney, Doris Bolin, and Jewell Campbell.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Betty Harris, of Rolla, and three grandchildren, Jacob Harris and wife Kelly, Ben Harris and fiancée Shandi May, and Hannah Harris.
A funeral service for Ada Harris will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Null and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Ozark Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shiloh Children’s Home.
