Joy Jean Jackson DeLuca, was born to the union of Johnny Jackson and Dolly Mae Boyd on May 31, 1932, in St. James, Mo. Jean left this life on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 13 days.
Jean was united in marriage to David Lee DeLuca Sr. in St. James, Mo., on August 26, 1950, and to this union eight children were born.
Jean spent most of her adult life as a business owner, operating DeLuca’s Home Bakery, followed later by Ridgeway Residential Care. Jean was an active member of the St. James Eastern Star.
Jean leaves to celebrate her life, her children; Jim DeLuca, of St. James, Mo.; Dan DeLuca and wife Terri, of St. James, Mo.; Mike DeLuca, of St. James, Mo.; David DeLuca Jr. and wife Jody, of St. James, Mo.; Gene DeLuca and friend Ellen Sapper, of St. James, Mo.; Deborah Turner of Sullivan, Mo.; Amy DeLuca, of Rolla, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Jackson and Dolly Mae Boyd, husband David Lee DeLuca Sr., and son Jeffery DeLuca.
Funeral service for Jean Deluca will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Craig Rippy officiating. Interment will be in the St. James cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
