Lorraine A. Snelson age 90 passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009; at home in Morgan’s Point Resort, Texas, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 24, 1919 in Rolla, Mo., to Joseph P. and Mabel (Mitchell) Williams. She graduated from Rolla High School in 1937. Mrs. Snelson was married to the late Floyd R. Snelson of Rolla, She was a homemaker, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2025 Ladies’ Auxiliary as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 270 Ladies’ Auxiliary of Rolla.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of James and Gahr Mortuary of Rolla, Mo.
Visitation will be held Oct. 20, 2009, from 10 to 11 a.m. with Funeral Services starting at 11a.m. Burial after services will be at the Fairview-Thomas Cemetery.
Mrs. Snelson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd R. Snelson, brother, Joe Ed Williams; and daughters, Sharon Kay Walsh, Judith Ann Rowland and son William Wilbur.
She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Sue Colburn (Jim) of Morgan’s Pt. Resort, Texas; step-daughter Kathleen Staley (Charles) of Tipp City, Ohio; step-son, Lyle Snelson of Eldon, Mo.; sister-in law, Daphne Lupberger (Harold) of St. James, Mo.; in addition to nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to HOSPICE or a charity of your choice.
