St. John’s Clinic welcomed approximately 300 guests Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 to a grand opening celebration for a new state-of-the-art health care facility in Rolla, Mo.
The 107,000 square-foot clinic, located at 1605 Martin Spring Drive, is specifically designed to be patient-friendly, comfortable, and efficient. Space for up to 50 physicians offering primary and specialty healthcare services will provide area patients with some of the most progressive and integrated healthcare in the area.
The Rolla clinic is the region’s most technologically advanced healthcare facility and one of the first in the nation designed for the electronic health record and the new workflows of the digital age.
The new building is the first St. John’s facility designed specifically to support the physician component of the Electronic Health Record (EHR). In addition to providing for better and more coordinated patient care, the EHR reduces paperwork, streamlines workflows, and provides patients and physicians with increasingly efficient access to medical information.
The Rolla facility is being recognized as a model for the future designs of other facilities both within the Mercy Health System and by other systems and medical groups, according to Dr. Randall Huss, President of St. John’s Clinic-Rolla Division.
“This facility is designed to be the ambulatory healthcare facility of the future. It is unlike anything seen to this point anywhere in this part of the country, and is on the cutting edge of progressive healthcare facility design at the national level.” Huss said.
St. John’s Clinic-Rolla consolidates the services of three different facilities into one fully-digital office, offering improved patient safety, service and accessibility.
Services offered at the Rolla clinic include: general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, hematology/oncology, neurology, orthopedics, sports medicine, spine center, podiatry, radiology, internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine and internal medicine specialists. Opthalmology, optometry and pulmonary medicine specialists are coming soon.
New services to the area include: physical and occupational therapy, a sleep disorders laboratory, endoscopy, pain management procedures, home medical supply and an ambulatory surgery center. A new optical shop will be opening in January.
St. John’s Clinic-Rolla also features expanded digital imaging services including x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, DEXA, echocardiography, vascular lab and fully digital mammography.
The clinic offers quick access to I-44 and has an on-site pharmacy and laboratory.
According to Huss, the new clinic is one of the most integrated, patient-centered and efficiently designed facilities in the region.
