A new Travel Channel reality show, Truck Stop USA with a Truck Stop Missouri theme, will feature Cookin’ From Scratch in one of its segments.

The television show debuted this summer. For its first season, the show has centered on the Midway Auto Truck Plaza and the multi-business complex off of Interstate 70’s Exit 121.

The show has branched out to cover other Truck Stop Missouri themes. A segment on the Doolittle restaurant’s recent Route 66 Burger Challenge was filmed last week at Midway and a followup session was recorded Tuesday at the Phelps County site.

The focus of the show is on the Route 66 Burger Challenge that began in February at Cookin’ From Scratch.

The challenge featured a 66-ounce King of the Road burger. Those willing to take on the task had 66 minutes to finish their meal. The contest drew diners from throughout the region.

Film crews from Leftfield Pictures — the New York-based company that films the hit show “Pawn Stars” — are handling the filming for the travel show, which airs weekly.

Cookin’ From Scratch’s Tony Sherrer, who owns the Doolittle restaurant with his wife Melissa, was excited about the opportunity.
