Rolla City Council members will convene for a special workshop today in Chambers to discuss multiple development issues, including the Rolla West project.
Usually, the City Council meets on the first and third Mondays of each month. However, the workshop today meets at 5:30 p.m. to discuss projects and update city leaders on other matters.
The workshop is for informational purposes, a forum for City Council members to be updated on various projects. While the public is invited, the agenda does not include a session for residents’ feedback. Those who have questions always are welcome to address city leaders during scheduled City Council meetings, Mayor William Jenks III said Saturday.
According to Rolla city Communications Coordinator Scott Grahl, the purpose of the workshop is to “maintain an open dialogue on Rolla West fifth interchange project.”
Missouri Department of Transportation District Engineer Tom Stehn and Carl Ramey, a financial advisor for Stifel Nicolaus, also will be joining the council for the workshop.
While the workshop primarily will cover the status of the various phases of Rolla West Fifth Interchange, there also will be discussion on pending changes in the Missouri Department of Natural Resources/EPA rules affecting peak volumes at the city’s three wastewater treatment plants.
Other topics to be included in the workshop include: Dialogue on new stormwater regulations; and permits; understanding of consultant services; long-term strategies — including funding — for Rolla West and its status; status of Rolla’s fourth interchange; Bryant Drive improvements; Missouri Route 72 extension and possible funding scenarios for those projects.
