The Missouri State Highway Patrol is testing for new troopers, with the closest examining station coming to Waynesville.
The Patrol is encouraging qualified individuals of all backgrounds to apply, it and will offer testing at nine locations.
Those who successfully complete testing will be eligible to continue in the selection process for the 93rd Recruit Class, scheduled to begin training Jan. 3. The application deadline is April 2.
To be eligible candidates must possess a minimum of 60 college credits, or two years of federal active duty military service with an honorable discharge, or two years of POST-certified, full-time law enforcement experience.
Test locations and dates include Troop I (Waynesville area) — March 6; Troop C (Weldon Spring/St. Louis area) — Feb. 20; Troop D (Springfield area) — Feb. 27; Western Illinois University (Macomb, Illinois, area) — Feb. 27; Troop E (Poplar Bluff area) — March 13; Troop A (Lees Summit, Kansas City, area) — March 20; Troop C (St. Louis area) — March 20; Troop B (Kirksville area) — March 27; Troop G (West Plains area) — March 27; Troop H (St. Joseph area) — April 10, and General Headquarters (Jefferson City area) — April 26 through May 1.
