It’s official: Missouri S&T solar car finishes race in 7th

Solar Miner VI, Missouri University of Science & Technology’s entry in the 2008 North American Solar Challenge, completed the 2,400-mile race Tuesday in seventh place of 15 teams.
The race began July 13 in Plano, Texas, and Missouri S&T’s car crossed the finish line at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, at 2:50 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (3:50 p.m. Central Daylight Time).
Results, which are now official, list the University of Michigan in first place, followed by Principia College of Elsah, Ill., FH Bochum of Germany, the University of Waterloo, the University of Minnesota and the University of Calgary.  Official results were announced at the awards ceremony Wednesday.
Photos and video footage from the race, as well as updates from the road, are available at solar42.mst.edu.
