The Phelps County Board for the Developmentally Disabled recently renewed contracts with local organizations that provide assistance or services to the developmentally disabled.
Although the nine-member board does not directly provide services to Phelps County residents with developmental disabilities, it does oversee the expenditure of county tax funds collected specifically to provide a variety of services.
According to a report reviewed by the Phelps County Commission on Thursday, year-long contracts totaling $365,910 were renewed with nine local not-for-profit organizations.
The organizations receiving renewal contracts included the Kyle Center for $73,900; Recreation for the Handicapped, $73,900; Choices for People, $65,024; Camp Brim Shire, $6,104; Capable Kids Program, $51,062; Gingerbread House, $52,500; Alternative Opportunities, $5,000; Rolla Area Sheltered Workshop, $95,000 and People First, $6,000.
