The suspect in the stabbing incident of a Fort Leonard Wood civilian employee has been identified as Sgt. First Class Louis Sutton.
Sutton was charged Friday with attempted murder and aggravated assault in the stabbing of a dining facility employee on post.
The suspect is assigned to the 5th Engineer Battalion, 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood.
Sutton is accused of entering a post dining facility and stabbing a civilian employee in the neck with a knife Thursday morning.
He allegedly fled the scene and turned himself in at the post’s east gate where he was apprehended.
Sutton is currently being held at Fort Leonard Wood, pending preliminary hearings. The stabbing remains under investigation.
The civilian employee was transported to the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital and remains in stable condition. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The victim’s name is being withheld for privacy reasons.
