Rolla, Mo. -

Presbyterian Manor of Rolla has issued a call for entries in its 28th annual Art is Ageless juried exhibit to be held in August during Artists’ Appreciation Month.
Entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artist who is 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for an opportunity to be featured in the 2009 Art is Ageless calendar.
“We are looking forward to the exhibit as it is always a treat to see what the artist in the area have been working on,” said Kathe Hooton, Activity Director.
“Each year we have seen the exhibit grow and become more inclusive of artists throughout our area and are expecting this to be the best year yet for creativity and variety of works on exhibit.”
Entry forms and information can be picked up at Presbyterian Manor, 1200 Homelife Plaza, Rolla, Mo., or by contacting Kathe Hooton at 573 364-7336, khooton@pmma.org.
Artists need to have been age 65 or older when the work was created and works need to have been completed in the past five years (since January 2003).
There are seven categories for works, and up to three entries may be made by a single artist with no more than two entries in a single category. Works to be entered for judging need to be at Presbyterian Manor by July 28. Art will be displayed through Aug. 3
Artists also may choose to enter the exhibit only.
Art is Ageless began in 1980 as a competition for residents and employees throughout the Presbyterian Manors system to appear in an annual calendar.
Since then, the competition has grown to encompass preliminary judging and exhibits at the local level with winners in each category photographed for submission to the corporate office for final judging.
In addition, classes have been held in colored chalk and card stamping here at the Manor, to assist our residents with art works suitable for entry in the contest.
