Phelps County Sheriff’s deputies late Thursday arrested a 19-year-old man who may have engaged in some type of illegal sexual activity with a 7-year-old boy for whom he was baby-sitting.
Sheriff’s Department officials began an investigation Sept. 19 after they were notified by a parent that a known baby sitter may had sexual contact with her son. As a result of that investigation, Donny J. Klonoski, 19, of rural Rolla was arrested.
Initial information was obtained and the Missouri State Child Abuse Hotline.
Upon receiving that information, a joint investigation was conducted by the Sheriffs Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit and the Missouri State Division of Children’s Services with the assistance of the Child Advocacy Center.
A probable cause statement was submitted requesting Klonoski be charged with statutory sodomy in the first-degree.
Klonoski is incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail for two counts of sexual misconduct with a child under 14 years old.
His bond has been set at $100,000.
