It’s seems the topic on every public entity’s agenda is the proposed Enhanced Enterprise Zone for Rolla and Phelps County.

And now, the issue of EEZ is coming to the Rolla Public Schools.

Molly Malone, the president of the Rolla Board of Education, and the district’s representative on the EEZ board, will be giving an update to the board on the issue, at 5:30 p.m., today.

Board member Keith Strassner also sits on the EEZ committee as the representative of Missouri S&T.

It also will be the last board meeting before the Oct. 13 public hearing being held at the Rolla City Council Chambers.

For district parents, Ginger King, the technology director for Rolla Schools, will make a presentation to the board on the launch of the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

The planned portal will allow parents to access their children’s grades at anytime throughout the school year, and will be available during parent-teacher conferences Oct. 21.

During the previous board meeting members divided up the topics of their Missouri School Board Association self-evaluation survey, in order for each member to make a presentation on each subject.

Board member Jane Haskell will be the first to make a presentation tonight, concerning the issue of governance-relations.

The open session is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
