Name released in fire

The name of the victim in Mondays fatal fire has been released by the Pulaski County Coroner and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
Alfred R. (Fred) Sax, 55, died at his home at 15045 Hardin Lane in St. Robert.

Efforts to reach Sax’s next-of-kin have been unsuccessful. Sax was a German citizen with no known relatives in the United States. Attempts to reach a possible sister in Germany have failed.

The fire was reported late Monday evening, according to Waynesville Rural Fire Protection District Chief Doug Yurecko. He said the call came in from a neighbor at 9:42 p.m.

First responders were on-scene within 10 minutes of the call.

Agencies called in to assist include the Waynesville Rural Fire Protection District, St. Robert Fire Department, Pulaski County Ambulance District, Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, St. Robert Police Department, the County Coroner, Laclede Electric, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and two investigators from the Missouri State Fire Marshal's office.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and will be released as it becomes available.
