Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a special enforcement operation conducted in Phelps and Pulaski counties on September 24, 2009.
During the course of the eight-hour operation, troopers were assigned to detect and enforce all hazardous moving violations as they patrolled Interstate 44. The troopers stopped 60 vehicles resulting in the following enforcement activities:
Speeding: 21
Seat Belt Violations: 8
Non-Moving Offenses: 5
Uninsured Motorists: 3
Driver's License Violations: 2
Warnings: 81
Captain Kenley stated: “We will continue to conduct these operations in an effort to make our roads safer. I would like to encourage anyone observing a vehicle being operated in either a careless or imprudent manner to please call the Highway Patrol at 1-800-525-5555 or *55 on your cell phone.”
