Blair S. Miller was indicted on federal firearms charges, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today.

Miller, 33, Bowling Green, MO, was indicted by a federal grand jury July 1, on one felony count of being a previously convicted felon in possession of a firearm for his possession of a firearm in Pike County on April 21, 2009.  The indictment remained sealed until the arrest of the defendant earlier this week.  He appeared in federal court this morning.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.

Reap commended the work on the case by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, the Troy and  Hannibal, MO Police Departments, and the Lincoln County Narcotics Enforcement Team.

The charges set forth in indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
