The Phelps County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Doolittle man at his home Friday morning on a federal warrant charging him with maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug-trafficking.
Donald Robert Robinson, 47, was arrested at his residence, 17617 County Road 8190, at 8:45 a.m. by an arrest team consisting of five Phelps County law enforcement officers and one federal agent working with the South Central Drug Task Force.
Robinson’s arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, after a federal grand jury found probable cause to prosecute him.
“This is another case of federal agents working closely with us to get some of our dealers off the street,” said Sheriff Don Blankenship.  “In the federal system, a guilty verdict can result in a lot more time in prison.
“I wish we could get all the drug dealers off the street,” Blankenship said.
Although Robinson was initially investigated by the PCSD in 2007, the department turned the case over to a federal prosecutor.
Under federal indictment, Robinson will be transported by a federal transport team to a federal courthouse where a judge or a federal magistrate will decide whether he can post bond.
Blankenship led an arrest team of four other PCSD deputies: Allan Studeny, Andy Davis, Amy Hawkins and Rick Hope.  One unidentified federal agent working with the South Central Drug Task Force assisted the team.  Studeny’s K-9 companion, Cezar, a German Shepherd, also assisted.
