After several meetings dominated by levy discussions, the Rolla Board of Education has a lighter agenda planned for tonight’s meeting.

Among the several items on the agenda is a presentation from Brenda Spurgeon, the district’s instructional technology facilitator, with high school students Logan Borders and Brooke Giddens, on the recent Student 2 Student trips to Alabama and Philadelphia.

Student 2 Student is a Rolla Junior High group created to help students with transition into the Junior High.

Stacey Reed, the district’s director of special services, will be presenting information on the Crisis Prevention Institute. The CPI is a non-violent crisis-intervention program based in Brookfield, Wis.

Board member Kelly Long will be revisiting a plan issue he has been developing for a new board member orientation program.

April election filings were finalized Tuesday, with three candidates vying for two seats on the School Board, the incumbent Jamie Myers, James Packard and Rodney Southard. There are two seats open for election, with the two candidates with the highest vote totals being elected to a three-year term.
