The Rolla golf team took part in the Class 2 Sectional 3 Meet on Monday, Oct. 8. The Lady Bulldogs nearly qualified to advance to State as a team, but missed out by just three stroke. Two golfers were able to advance individually.

Audrey Collier was Rolla's top finisher on the day, qualifying for State with a fifth place finish. She shot a +16 87. Hannah Hilker was a few spots behind in 14th place, also earning a spot at State by shooting a +22 93. Her tie for 14th place was the final individual finish to qualify for State. Abby Hobbs narrowly missed out on State, finishing with a +25 96, just three strokes behind Hilker. Marliere Toothaker was one stroke behind with a 97. Emma Hobbs rounded out the varsity lineup with a 44th place finish with a +43 114.

Those scores gave Rolla a team score of 373. They narrowly missed out on second place, which would've sent them to the State Meet as a team. Ozark took second with a 271, while Ozark won the meet with a score of 345.

The State Meet will be played at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 15-16.
