Hundreds of students and members of the community attended the first Tiger Festival of Nations on Friday, Sept. 14, at Tiger Stadium.

“We are so thankful for our volunteers who made this an overwhelming success. We had 42 tables providing information and about 20 of them included delicious ethnic food samples that varied from main dishes to desserts,” said Dr. Brian Henry, superintendent. “We are already receiving requests to hold a festival next year.”

More than 550 students received passports so they could “travel” from country to country getting their passports stamped.

Waynesville High School students, local organizations and International Military Student Office participated in the event that was organized by the Diversity Committee of the Waynesville R-VI School District.
