The St. James softball team (2-4, 1-2 FRC) traveled to Owensville for a Four Rivers Conference game on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Owensville got out to an early lead and St. James couldn't quite finish a late comeback attempt in a 6-3 loss.

The Lady Dutchmen got out to a fast start with three runs un the first inning, before adding two more runs in the third and one more in the fourth. The St. James bats were quiet until the sixth, when they woke up in a big way. Mikaela Donnelly powered a three-run inning by launching a two-run dinger to help close the gap to 6-3, but that was as close as St. James would get in a 6-3 loss.

The Lady Tigers totaled just four hits in the win, with Donnelly, Audrey Marcee, Shelby Quick and Abbie Walton contributing with a base knock. Quick and Hunter Pitts also each walked once.

Marcee took care of the pitching for St. James, pitching a complete game. She allowed six runs, only four of which were earned. She surrendered seven hits and six walks, while striking out three batters.

St. James will return home to face another Four Rivers Conference opponent on Thursday when Sullivan comes to town.
