Thursday, Aug. 16, BW Robinson School hosted their first annual back to school open house. BW Robinson is one of 34 state schools situated regionally throughout the state and administered by the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD) under the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

BW Robinson serves 47 students from the ages of 5 to 21, from Phelps, Pulaski, Crawford, Maries, and part of Gasconade counties, who have severe to profound disabilities and whose educational needs cannot be served by their local school district. MSSD provides a modified curriculum designed to meet student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

The event was very well attended by families, students, staff and members of the community. Representatives from Choices for People, the SB40 Board for the Developmentally Disabled, and First Student transportation services were all in attendance to answer questions from local families.
