The men's softball league hosted by Rolla Parks and Rec was back in business on Tuesday, July 10 with a solid slate of games.
Games on Morgan Field got off to an excellent start when No Drama faced off against Unknowns. No Drama came out swinging with a eight-run second inning to take an early lead, but they were their scoring slowed to a total of two runs for the next three innings combined. Unknowns chipped away over that span, eventually cutting the score to 11-10 through five innings. No Drama put an end to the dramatic comeback with two more runs in the sixth, which included a bomb from Joe Chick, while holding Unknowns to one, sealing a 13-11 win.
Unknowns followed that with another high scoring matchup with Pruvit or Lose it. Pruvit or Lose it got out to a quick 7-1 lead through the first three innings, but Unknowns charged back with eight runs in the fourth. Pruvit scored four runs in the inning as well, maintaining their lead 11-9. Pruvit tacked on two more runs in the fifth and again Unknowns' comeback was held just short. They scored three runs in the fifth, as Pruvit walked away with a 13-12 win.
Pruvit or Lose It then capped off games at Morgan Field with an absolute slugfest against DMP. Pruvit mashed in an unbelievable 16 runs in the first inning, which included three home runs. They added a run in the second and eight more in the third to run away with the win. DMP scored nine runs late, but the closest they could get to 25-20.
The runs kept flying on Kimmel Field, which saw it's first two games end as blowouts. In the first, Legend's Auto cruised past No Drama 2 28-4. Miller 64 then crushed the Browns 22-7. The final game on the field was by far the closest between Dairy Queen and McDonald's. Dairy Queen scored three runs in the first, but McDonald's was able to tie the game in the third, before taking a 6-3 lead in the fourth. DQ scored five in the top of the fifth to retake the lead, but McDonald's took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the frame and another run to seal a 10-8 win in the sixth.
The final field of games only had one contest, as Dirty MO Posse and Shockers each won via forfeit. No Drama capped off the night with a 13-11 win on the power of an eight-run first inning, sealing the win with three runs in the bottom of the eighth.
