The Rolla co-ed softball league hosted by Rolla Parks and Rec was back in action on Thursday, June 28.
Angels Among Us and Exit Reality Team Leaders opened up games on Kimmel Field with a close contest. Angels Among Us scored five runs in the first to take a commanding lead early. They were able to expand that lead to 8-1 through four innings. That's when Exit came charging back, scoring six runs in the top of the sixth, bringing the score to 8-7. That was as close as they'd get though, as Angels scored twice in the bottom of the inning to seal the win. Exit scored once in the sixth, but their comeback fell short 10-8. Angels had an easier time with their second game, beating Riverways Federal Credit Union 10-4 on the power of a six-run first inning. Games on Kimmel wrapped up with Central Missouri Sports Cards making quick work of Exit Reality Team Leaders 13-4.
The second field of fames started with a stellar offensive performance from Curls for the Girls. They mashed in 17 runs in a 17-5 rout of Not Forgotten. The second game wasn't much closer, as Die Hard cruised to a 7-1 win over Curt's Mobile Homes. It was a rough night for Curt's as they followed that game with another loss. Karma was able to take them down 19-6 thanks to an eight run second inning.
Karma had a great night of softball overall. Before beating Curt's, they started their night by slugging their way past Benchwarmers. Karma were only held off the scoreboard in one inning, as they beat Benchwarmers 15-9, sealing with win with a six-run seventh. Benchwarmers bounced back in their second game, though, smashing their way to a 16-6 win over MG Sports. All Out Diesel ended the night by crushing NAPA 18-9.
