Rolla golfer Chris Martin took part in the Missouri Amateur Championships this weekend. After making it out of stroke play at the end of the week, Martin played in match play on Saturday, June 23.

Martin won his first round match over Moscow Mills' Caleb Picker by a hole, before beating Drew Denton of Jackson by the same margin. That sent the local golfer into a matchup with the number one seed, Brad Nurski from St. Joseph. The match needed 19 holes, but Nurski was able to end Martin's run in the round of 16. Nurski went on to win the championship over Brooks Jungbluth, also of St. Joseph.
