JOPLIN, Mo. – Missouri S&T's track & field team added one NCAA Division II provisional mark and improved on another Friday afternoon as it took part in the Missouri Southern Last Chance Meet, its final competition before the NCAA Division II national bids will be announced.
Megan Schulte (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge), the Great Lakes Valley Conference champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, made an NCAA Division II provisional mark in the event Friday with a school record time of 10:58.66, while Skyler Ruszkowski(League City, TX/Clear Falls) improved her provisional mark with a clearance of 5-7¾ in the high jump.
Among the other competitors for Missouri S&T on Friday, Amanda Wetzel (Keller, TX/Keller) recorded a clearance of 10-10 in the pole vault and John Karsten had a throw of 186-1 in the hammer throw. Lucas Rosenbaum and Ezekiel Buck took part in the men's pole vault, but neither of them cleared their opening height of 16-7½ as they were attempting to improve their prior provisional marks.
The NCAA will release the field for the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Tuesday.
