The Rolla track team ran in the Ozark Conference track meet on Wednesday, May 2. The girls finished in third place as a team, while the boys finished in 10th.

The Lady Bulldogs continued to shine in the distance events with several top three finishes. Emma Puetz led off the distance events with a first place finish in the 800m run. She finished with a time of 2:25.55. Puetz then finished second in the 1,600m run with a time of 5:23.15, while teammate Krista Hilmas finished in fourth with a time of 5:36.71. Hilmas then took third in the 3,200m run with a time of 11:48.24.
Rolla also ran well in the sprints, led by a pair of top five finishes by Olivia Holmes. Holmes finished third in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.5, while finishing in fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.82. Other top finishes in the sprints included Olivia Olusanya placing sixth in the 100m dash and Kendall Mara finishing seventh in both the 100m and 200m dashes.
Rolla kept rolling with great finishes in the relays, taking second in both the 4x200 and 4x800. They finished the 4x200 with a time of 1:48.61 and the 4x800 with a time of 10:18.02. The Lady Bulldogs also took fifth in the 4x400 and 10th in the 4x100.
The Lady Bulldogs also had some strong finishes in the hurdles. Bayli Graydon finished the 100m hurdles in fifth with a time of 17.2 and seventh in the 300m hurdles with at time of 52.1. Taryn Kamprath also finished eighth in the 100m hurdles, while Loran Pritchett took eighth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 52.31.
Rolla also had a conference champion in the field events. Senior Visakha Ho won the pole vault by clearing 9'6". The Lady Bulldogs also had Courtney Colench and Kassandra Hayes each cleared 4'8" in the high jump, finishing in a tie for second.
Rebecca Janke then led the charge in the throwing events. She finished in second in the pole vault with a throw of 112'4", while Savannah Womack finished in fourth with a throw of 100'5". Janke and Lauren Moersch also finished back to back in the discus with throws of 91'4" and 86'9". Janke then finished seventh in the shot with a throw of 33'7.75", while McKenzie Proffitt came in eighth with a throw of 32'8.25".
The Lady Bulldogs racked up 111 team points to place third. The finished just a point and a half behind the second place finishers, West Plains. Kickapoo won with 144.5 team points.
The Bulldogs' top finishes in the track events came from Nnamezie Orizu in the hurdles. He took second in both the 110m and 300m hurdles with times of 15.66 and 41.45.
Other boys track finishes at the varsity level included Jaden Tate and Elijah Young finishing in 17th and 18th in the 100m dash, Bryce O'Connor placing 15th in the 200m dash and 10th in the 400m dash and Brandon Burris placing 14th in both the 800m and 1,600m runs.
The Rolla field events were led by their pole vaulters. Landon Adams and Caleb Turner finished back to back atop the conference by clearing 13'3" and 12'6", respectively. Rolla was without Nick Janke, so they missed out on a lot of their top field finishes, as a result, the top jumping finishes included a ninth place finish from Brad Shelton in the high jump, and no jumpers in either the long or triple jumps.
The Bulldog throwers found some success, particularly at the javelin. Kaberon Burgess and Colton Franks finished back to back in the events in eighth and ninth with throws of 131'9" and 131'6". Burgess also finished 13th in both the discus and shot put, while Franks finished 14th in the shot and 15th in the discus.
The Bulldogs had 38 team points to finish in 10th.
Rolla will be off until Districts, which Camdenton will host on Saturday, May 12.
