The St. James girls basketball team (10-10) traveled to Francis Howell on Monday, Jan. 29 for a non-conference matchup. St. James struggled to find their offense, falling 64-25.

The Lady Tigers were never able to score in double figures in a single quarter on Monday night, which put them in a quick 18-7 hole after a quarter of play. Francis Howell was firing on all cylinders in the first with Jane Thompson knocking down three shots from behind the arc. St. James managed just six more points in the second quarter, going into the half trailing 32-13.

The second half didn't get much better for St. James. Francis Howell went off for 20 points in the third quarter, led by 12 points by Tionne Taylor. The Lady Tigers scored eight points in the quarter, their highest scoring quarter of the game, and went into the fourth in a 52-21 hole. The turbo clock went into effect in the fourth quarter, as Francis Howell finished off a 64-25 win.

Mikaela Donnelly led St. James with seven points in the loss, while also adding two rebounds and a steal. Bailey Wells added six points, seven rebounds, four assists and a steal. Riley Whitener and Hannah Marcee each added five more points. 

Francis Howell also won the JV game 40-32. Caily Sanders and Macy Terrill led the St. James JV with seven points a piece.

St. James will head back into the Four Rivers conference with their next game, as they head to Pacific on Thursday, Feb. 1.
