The St. James boys basketball team (13-5) faced off against Wright City for the third place game of the Hermann Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 27. The Tigers dominated the entire game on their way to an 81-50 win.

Wright City was able to stay within range of St. James in the first quarter thanks to six unforced turnovers, but other than that it was all St. James. The Tigers scored 20 points in the opening quarter on the back of eight points from Bailey Terrill and another seven points from Ryan Harlan. St. James led 20-15 after the opening quarter before exploding in the second. 

The Tigers scored a staggering 35 points in the second quarter to completely run away with things. Six Tigers scored in the quarter and they each scored four or more points. St. James hit three threes in the quarter and were led by 10 points from Ivan Fuhring. They went into the half with a 55-32 lead and never looked back.

St. James put the final nail in Wright City's coffin in the third with another 24 points. Tyler Recker hit a pair of threes to lead St. James in the quarter with eight points. The Tigers went into the fourth with a 79-44 lead and the turbo clock went into effect. St. James scored just two points in the fourth, but held Wright City to six to finish off an 81-50 win. 

Terrill recorded his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 boards. Fuhring led all scorers with 19 points, while Recker added another 15. Harlan had a stellar all-around game with 13 points, five steals and five assists in the win.

The Tigers will remain on the road for their next contest, when they travel to Steelville on Monday, Jan. 29.
