The Newburg girls basketball team hosted Springfield Rush on Thursday, Jan. 25. The Lady Wolves saw their offense dry up in the second half in a 67-56 loss.
Newburg struggled with turnovers in the loss, giving the ball away 23 times in the loss. Springfield Rush, meanwhile, only turned the ball over six times. Newburg had solid offensive performances, with three players scoring in double figures, but their shooting went cold in the second half on the way to the loss.

Kylie Brookshire continues to be a force for the Lady Wolves with yet another double-double. She had 18 points and 13 rebounds, both team highs, in the loss. Macy Suschanke also had a strong game with 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kaylee Skinner added 12 points, nine boards, three assists and a steal.
Newburg will try to bounce back when they host their home tournament next week. The Lady Wolves will kick things off against Dixon on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
