The Laquey Lady Hornets hosted the Newburg Lady Wolves for their annual cancer awareness night. The Lady Hornets and Laquey School District raffled off a handmade quilt and donated the money raised to a former teacher that is still involved with activities around the school while she is being treated.

The Lady Wolves began the game with a strong 17-6 first period. The Newburg girls had an incredible second period as they outscored the Lady Hornets 22-6. The Lady Wolves were leading at halftime 39-12 in the close game.

At Halftime the Laquey Lady Hornets led a cancer walk around the track for people and families who have been affected by cancer.

The Lady Wolves continued to dominate 15-4 in the third quarter and increased their lead to 54-16 in the game. Both team played great defence in the final period as the the a both teams scored seven points in the final period. The Newburg Lady Wolves won the Frisco League game 61-23.

The Laquey Lady Hornets were led in scoring by Briar Sayer and Kylee Elmore with six points each. Alecia Cresel scored five points for the Lady Hornets. Ariana Rice added four points for Laquey

The Newburg Lady Wolves were led in the game by Grace Affalter with twenty nine points in the game. Kaylee Skinner added twelve points in the big win. Both Macey Susanve and Kylie Brookshire added six points in the game for the Newburg girls. Adrianna Williams and Maron Susanve scored four points in the win.

The next games for Laquey Lady Hornets is next week in the Newburg Girls Tournament. The Newburg Lady Wolves play the Springfield Rush tonight in Nixa.
