Newburg got a huge lead early on Friday night with a great first quarter. The Wolves went off for 20 points in the opening quarter and played stellar defense to finish the opening frame with a 20-7 lead.
Stoutland woke up in the second quarter with 20 points of their own, but Newburg managed to keep pace with 16 points of their own to carry a 36-27 lead into the half.
The Wolves finished the game by outscoring Stoutland by two points in the third quarter and seven points in the fourth to cap off a 65-47 victory.
Ryan Terry and Landen Callahan continue to be offensive forces for Newburg, as Terry led the scoring effort with 23 points, while Callahan added 20 of his own. Caleb Austin added 10 points for Newburg, while Tristan Wofford added eight.
"Nice win for us tonight on the road," said Newburg head coach Logan Ray. " I thought our defense was solid for most of the game besides a three minute stretch to end the second quarter. Ran the floor well on offense and executed good in the half court. Total team effort on both ends."
The Wolves will finally get their home opener for their next contest when they host Bourbon on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
