“It was the best field trip I have been on in a long time!” said Pahdra Verret, student at RHS. That pretty well sums up a trip to the St. Louis Art Museum and Blick Art Materials.

“It was the best field trip I have been on in a long time!” said Pahdra Verret, student at RHS.  On Thursday, October 26, students from Connie Shoemaker, Shannon Engelbrecht and Laurie Myers’ art classes visited the St. Louis Art Museum and Blick Art Materials.  This trip was made possible thanks to funding from the Mark Rolufs Grant.  At Blick, students were excited to see the vast array of art supplies available and many students purchased supplies like Copic pens, Open acrylics, and sketchbooks.  At the museum, students participated in a scavenger hunt to identify and locate various pieces from the collection.  The trip allowed students to respond to works of art and interpret intent and meaning in artistic work.
