The St. James softball team (14-11) hosted Crocker for Senior Night on Thursday, Sept. 28. The Lady Tigers couldn't get the bats going in a 7-3 loss.
Crocker got out to an early lead with a run in the second inning and two more in the third, before St. James responded with two of their own in the bottom of the inning. After two scoreless frames, Crocker added another run in the sixth before sealing the game with three runs in the top of the seventh. St. James got a run across in the bottom of the seventh, but they weren't able to complete the comeback.
Hamliton pitched a complete game on her Senior Night, allowing seven runs, two of which were unearned, on seven hits, four walks and five strikeouts. She also had one of the Lady Tigers' six base hits. Juniors Mikaela Donnelly, Hunter Pitts and Hannah Shasserre each drove in a run, while Donnelly and Pitts both had two base knocks and a run scored. Pitts also walked and had two steals.
The loss ended the Lady Tiger's regular season. They'll open District play against Salem at Sullivan on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
