The Rolla soccer team (13-2, 4-0 OC) hosted Hillcrest for a varsity only Ozark Conference matchup on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Rolla was unstoppable on Wednesday night, scoring nine goals in the first half on their way to a 10-0 victory.

The Bulldogs got started early and never slowed down. Gabe Stanislawski got things going in the 11th minute with a goal off an assist from Jarret Gabriele. Mohamed Alamaldiem followed that with a goal on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute. After that goal, if you blinked, you might've missed a goal. Rolla ripped off. The Bulldogs scored seven goals in the next eight minutes as they started to run away from Hillcrest with ease.

It wasn't just the regulars contributing on Wednesday night. After Gabriele scored off an assist from Jacob Lortz in the 24th minute, Michael DeBlasi got into the scoring action with a goal in the 25th. Two minutes later, Adeeb Messri knocked one in to push the lead to 5-0. Bradley Shelton, who was celebrating his senior spotlight during the game, scored the next two goals in the 28th and 29th minutes off of assists by Jayson Ross and Evan Moore. Cody Mullen then added a goal in the 30th minute to extend the lead to 8-0 off an assist by Stanislawski. Moore scored the last goal of the first half off an assist from Carson Arnold in the 35th minute and Rolla ended the game with a goal by Ross just one minute into the second half.

With all the scoring, it was an easy night for Drew Blair, who now has seven shutouts on the season and 32 in his career. The senior captain is now just three shutouts shy of tying the school record.

The Bulldogs will remain in the Ozark Conference when they travel to Lebanon on Monday, Oct. 2.
