A Phelps County mother was arrested after her nine-month-old child tested positive for four different drugs.
On September 21, 2017, detectives from the Phelps County Sheriff’s Departmentarrested Kaylee Marie Bradshaw, age 20, of Rolla, Missouri for two counts of endangering the welfare of a child - involving drugs. Bradshaw was located in Newburg, Missouri and taken into custody without incident.
Previously, Bradshaw’s nine month old daughter was transported to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center where she was stabilized and later conveyed to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
During her treatment, the opiate antidote, Narcan was utilized. Test results revealed the infant tested positive for oxycodone, methamphetamine, morphine, and heroin.
Bradshaw’s three year old son was removed from the home by Children’s Services and later tested positive for methamphetamine, morphine, and heroin.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Bradshaw did not maintain care and custody of her children, and acted in a manner that created substantial risk to their life. This investigation is on-going.
A warrant was issued for Bradshaw’s arrest on September 22, 2017 for two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1 st degree. Her bond was set at $100,000.00. The charges for which Bradshaw was arrested are merely accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
