The Rolla tennis team travels to West Plains for their final dual of the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 21. The Lady Bulldogs swept doubles on their way to a 6-3 victory, despite being without their number four player.

Rolla was without Diya Allada on Thursday, so Shannon Chan stepped up to play at number six and Kathleen Beetner and Rylee Kriete were each bumped up a slot.

The Lady Bulldogs got off to a great start in doubles, but West Plains pushed them to the brink. Rachel Butz and Laura McCutcheon had the only easy match of doubles, as they cruised to an easy 6-1 win. Olivia Burken and Kriete paired up at number two doubles and fought to a 7-5 victory. Beetner and Chan played at number three and the game was pushed to a tie-break. Rolla won the tie-break 6-2 to take the match 7-6.

Rolla moved into singles and got a couple of quick 6-1 wins from Butz at number one and Kriete at number four. McCutcheon and Chan had tough 4-6 losses, while Burken fell 3-6. Beetner pulled out a 6-4 win at number five to help seal a 6-3 win as a team.

At the JV level, the pairs of Jalisa Berrieum/Sheri Chan and Molly Hardwick/Eliana Stanislawski each earned wins.

"Tonight was a great win and way to cap off the dual meet season. We keep meeting team goals and finding the best in our difficulties," said head coach Joe Schisler. "Tomorrow we play at the Waynesville tournament to end the regular season and then we host Waynesville on Monday for round one of Districts. It should be a challenging few days."

Rolla traveled to the Waynesville Tournment on Friday, Sept. 22, but results were not available at press time. They'll open District play when they host Waynesville on Monday, Sept. 25.
