The Rolla tennis team played in the Ozark Conference Tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 19. Rolla went 1-2 on the day to finish in fourth place.

Rolla started with a dominant 5-1 win over West Plains to set themselves up for a solid finish overall. They advanced to the second round to face off against Joplin. The match against Joplin was the opposite of their match with West Plains, as they fell 1-5.

The loss to Joplin put Rolla in the third place match with Lebanon. Rolla beat Lebanon earlier this season 5-4, but Rolla saw a flipped result in their rematch in the conference tournament. Rolla swept doubles and led 4-0 early, but lost four straight singles matches and fell in the match 4-5. The loss put Rolla in fourth place as a team.

Rachel Butz, Rolla's number one singles player, earned All-Conference honors for her performance. Kickapoo, who won the conference tournament, led the way with three All-Conference selections. Coral Tracy and Raegen Brown were unanimous All-Conference selections, while Asantae Haanstad was also named to the team. Joplin finished in second and had Ashley Butler named to the All-Conference team. Lebanon rounded out the top three with two All-Conference selections in Hannah Lowery and Zephanie White.

Next up for Rolla is a trip to West Plains on Thursday, Sept. 21.
